There are countless things people can criticize about New York. The noise, the smell, the rat... Yet none of that ever really matters to those who truly love this city. It’s a city where you can stand at a street corner and hear a dozen different languages, feel the pulse of a thousand cultures, yet still, somehow, be part of it all.
You could walk down a quiet street and catch a fleeting moment; a saxophonist playing on the steps of an old brownstone, a couple laughing over coffee at a sidewalk café. Or you might find yourself stepping over a pile of trash that’s been sitting for days and the rats seem to have as much claim to the streets as people, while the overwhelming stench fills the air. Every corner is a world unto itself. And yet, despite the madness, there's a certain resilience to the city, a sense that no matter how bad things get, life here never stops.
Alright, let's get one thing straight; I didn’t come here to give you a full-on New York travel guide, don’t worry. If I did, we’d be here for hours and probably end up with a 10-season-long Netflix series. I mean, there's just so much to say about this city, it’s impossible to squeeze it into a simple blog post!
